St. Lambertus Basilica
Düsseldorf, Germany

The tower with its spirally twisted spire is the easiest landmark to recognize in the Old Town, visible from many side streets.
This 14th-century Gothic church in the Old Town features a characteristic twisted tower spire, which resulted from the drying of wet wood after a fire in 1815. Inside, visitors can find the Renaissance tomb of Duke Wilhelm the Rich and the reliquary of St. Apollonia.
