It uniquely combines the functions of a granary, grain market, and church, presenting statues of the patrons of Florentine guilds.

The Chiesa di Orsanmichele is a unique building in Florence that originally served as a granary and grain market, and was later transformed into a church. In the 13th century, the facades were adorned with niches in which Florentine guilds placed statues of their patrons, created by Donatello, Ghiberti, and Verrocchio. The interior features Orcagna's Gothic tabernacle. It is an extraordinary example of combining commercial and sacred functions in one building. There is also a museum inside.
