These are the ruins of a Roman defensive fort from the 2nd century AD, a remnant of the Roman Limes, unlike the Baroque Vienna Gate.

Contra-Aquincum is the ruins of a Roman defensive fort, built on the eastern bank of the Danube in the 2nd century AD. It was part of the Roman Limes, a system of fortifications protecting the empire's borders. Today, one can see the remains of walls and foundations, which testify to the presence of Romans in this area. It is located near Elizabeth Bridge.
