Royal Chapel
Gdańsk, Poland

Erected between 1678-1681 with funds from King Jan III Sobieski, it is the only example of Baroque sacred architecture adjacent to St. Mary's Church.
A Baroque chapel built between 1678 and 1681, funded by King John III Sobieski for Gdańsk Catholics who lost their parish church to Protestants. It features a richly decorated interior, with a Baroque altar and polychromes. It is adjacent to St. Mary's Church, creating an interesting architectural contrast with it. It is one of the few examples of Baroque architecture in Protestant Gdańsk. The interior is small and intimate.
