Santa Maria presso San Satiro
Milan, Italy

Renaissance church on Via Torino constructed between 1478 and 1482 to designs by Donato Bramante around the 9th-century Romanesque chapel of San Satiro. Lacking physical space, the architect created a trompe-l'oeil stucco false choir with an apparent depth of several meters that measures just 97 centimeters.
