It features an octagonal nave under a dome, differing from the constructions of Ayasofya and Aya İrini.

Little Hagia Sophia, or Küçük Ayasofya Camii, is a former Byzantine church dedicated to Saints Sergius and Bacchus, built in the 6th century by Emperor Justinian I. After the conquest of Constantinople, it was converted into a mosque in the early 16th century. The architecture features an octagonal nave under a dome, with columns with composite-style capitals. It is one of the earliest preserved examples of Byzantine sacred architecture in Istanbul.
