Forth Bridge
Edinburgh, United Kingdom

The railway cantilever bridge made of red steel was completed in 1890 according to the design of engineers John Fowler and Benjamin Baker. The structure has a total length of 2467 meters and spans the shores of the Firth of Forth between South Queensferry and North Queensferry. 53,000 tons of steel joined by 6.5 million rivets were used for its construction. The railway crossing was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2015 as a groundbreaking work of Victorian-era engineering. Passenger trains have been running on it continuously to this day.
