As the first post-war suspension bridge in Germany, it shows what reconstruction looked like, rather than the latest engineering.

The first post-war cable-stayed bridge in Germany, built between 1953 and 1957 connecting Golzheim and Niederkassel, designed by Fritz Leonhardt. It is a protected technical monument and part of Düsseldorf's Rhine bridge family.
