National Museum of Ireland - Archaeology
Dublin, Ireland

A museum located in a Victorian neoclassical building from 1890 on Kildare Street. The collections present the material heritage of the island from the Stone Age to the late Middle Ages. In the Treasury, unique Celtic gold necklaces and lunulae, the 8th-century Ardagh Chalice, and the richly carved Tara Brooch can be admired. An extraordinary part of the collection consists of Iron Age human remains excavated from peat bogs, including the Gallagh Man and the Croghan Man.
