Panthéon
Paris, France

Originally a church, it was transformed into a mausoleum for prominent figures, including Maria Skłodowska-Curie, after the revolution.
The Panthéon is a monumental neoclassical building, originally designed as the Church of St. Genevieve. After the French Revolution, it was transformed into a mausoleum for distinguished French personalities. Voltaire, Rousseau, Victor Hugo, and Maria Skłodowska-Curie, among others, rest here. The interior of the Panthéon is adorned with frescoes depicting scenes from French history and a Foucault's pendulum experiment demonstrating the Earth's rotation.
