Cloth Hall
Kraków, Poland

As a historic market hall, it combines trade with the exhibition of the Gallery of 19th-Century Polish Art, forming a unique combination of functions.
The Sukiennice is a historic market hall dominating the central part of the Main Market Square in Krakow. Originally a Gothic building from the 13th century, it acquired its current form after a Renaissance reconstruction in the 16th century. The ground floor houses a gallery of stalls with souvenirs, handicrafts, and amber jewelry. On the upper floor, there is the Gallery of 19th-Century Polish Art, a branch of the National Museum in Krakow. The Sukiennice is an iconic symbol of the city and a commercial center since the Middle Ages.
