Where to eat
- Под липите — Traditional Bulgarian cuisine served at a relaxed pace, and on a warm day it's worth asking for a table in the garden under the lime trees.
- Mi Casa — The name points to Mediterranean or Spanish cuisine, and the relaxed pace of service suits dinner for two or a small group.
- Atena — A plain café for coffee, a pastry or breakfast, where you stop for a short break between sights in the city.
- Алтруист — A café for a break with coffee or a light snack, and with a bit of luck also for an hour of laptop work between stops on your itinerary.
- Бистро 16 — The kitchen is built around a short, changing daily menu of Bulgarian home-style dishes, so you can eat a hot meal here for a price close to that of a sandwich.
- Зоя — A restaurant for a full meal in a group, where it's worth having a reservation in the evening, as dinner hours tend to be busy.
- Кринг — A menu of local dishes and places at larger tables make this a good address for dinner with a whole group, rather than a quick snack.
- Ротонда — Outdoor tables in season let you have coffee with dessert while sightseeing, without going into a full restaurant.
