It currently houses an exhibition on the history of German democracy, which distinguishes it from typical sacred sites.

The Katedra Niemiecka, also known as the Kościół Niemiecki, is a Baroque church located on Gendarmenmarkt square. Built between 1701 and 1708, its distinctive dome was added in 1785. It currently houses a parliamentary exhibition titled "Paths, Detours, Dead Ends – The History of German Democracy." The exhibition is open to the public and presents the stages of development of the democratic German state. The building was destroyed in 1943 and rebuilt between 1977 and 1996.
