Built by Karl Friedrich Schinkel between 1818 and 1821, it initially functioned as a theater and only later became a concert hall.
Konzerthaus Berlin is a neoclassical concert hall dominating Gendarmenmarkt square. It was built between 1818 and 1821 by Karl Friedrich Schinkel, originally as a theater. After severe damage during World War II, the building was rebuilt and transformed into a concert hall, opening in 1984. On the facade's steps, there is a sculpture group "Musikalische Quadriga."
