Berlin Anhalter Bahnhof
Berlin, Germany

It is the only remnant of the Anhalter Bahnhof, opened in 1880, destroyed during World War II, preserved as a monument.
The portico of the ruined Anhalter Bahnhof is a remnant of one of Berlin's largest and most beautiful railway stations. Anhalter Bahnhof, opened in 1880, was an impressive example of the era's architecture and a major transport hub. It was almost completely destroyed during bombings in World War II, and its ruins were demolished in 1959. Today, only the front portico with three monumental arches remains, serving as a monument commemorating Berlin's historical glory and destruction.
