Bastion Square Mdina Viewpoint
Valletta, Malta

A viewpoint on Bastion Square at the northern end of Malta's former capital, Mdina. From the edge of the mighty sixteenth-century defensive walls, a panorama opens up, covering more than half of the island's surface. With good air clarity, the dome in Mosta, the capital Valletta, and the blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea are perfectly visible. A walk through the narrow streets of the Silent City towards the bastions leads among baroque palaces and noble stone residences. In the evening, the square is illuminated by historic lanterns.
