The Dome
Edinburgh, United Kingdom
The building on George Street was erected in 1847 according to the design of David Rhind as the headquarters of the Commercial Bank of Scotland. After being adapted for gastronomic purposes in 1996, the facility became a meeting place for Edinburgh society. The heart of the building is the Grill Room, located under a high glass dome supported by Corinthian columns. The establishment is famous for its Afternoon Tea service with sandwiches and freshly baked scones. The entrance is adorned with a grand sandstone portico.
