Christ Church Cathedral
Dublin, Ireland

A medieval cathedral founded around 1030 by the Viking king Sitric Silkenbeard, rebuilt after the Norman invasion at the end of the 12th century. Beneath the nave extends a twelfth-century crypt over 60 meters long, which is the oldest surviving masonry structure in Dublin. In the crypt's treasury, the mummified remains of a cat and a rat found in organ pipes in 1860 are displayed. A stone covered bridge connects the temple with the former synodal hall housing the Dublinia museum.
