Valletta Waterfront
Valletta, Malta

A historic harbor promenade along the Grand Harbour basin in the Floriana district. The waterfront consists of a series of 19 Baroque warehouses built in 1752 at the initiative of Grand Master Manuel Pinto da Fonseca. The colorful doors of the buildings formerly symbolized the type of goods stored, including wine, grain, and olive oil. Today, it houses a cruise ship terminal and a dozen cafes, wine bars, and restaurants with tables right by the water. In the evenings, the facades of the warehouses are spectacularly illuminated.
