Piekarnia Ariston
Athens, Greece
A traditional artisan bakery founded in 1910 by the Lobotesis family at 10 Voulis Street, next to Syntagma Square. The specialty of the establishment is tiropita kourou, a flaky butter pastry filled with spicy Greek feta cheese with added sheep's milk, baked fresh in deep trays. Every day, over 150 types of savory and sweet pies with fillings such as spinach spanakopita, leeks, pumpkin, mushrooms, or minced meat come out of the ovens. Queues of Athenians rushing to their offices form in front of the glass display window.
